Bookings are now open for Merlin MS Centre’s annual skydive event,’ Fly Through Friday 13th’ which this year takes place in March. The popular event gives brave individuals a bird’s eye view of the county as they free fall up to 15,000ft over Perranporth Air Field. In return for a minimum sponsorship of £500, participants can complete their challenge for free.

Aiming to debunk the superstition that Friday 13th is unlucky, one local charity is giving the chance to fly in the name of fundraising.

Centre volunteer, Catherine Hanniford took on the challenge last year to celebrate her 60th Birthday raising over £900 for the charity.

“ I loved every minute of the whole experience and was very proud of myself. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my ‘big’ birthday and I would do it all again tomorrow! My aim was to raise £600 for my 60th birthday so I was over the moon by people’s generosity at helping me raise £900.”
